Entertaining 101: Thanksgiving Table Setting

As we get back to family gatherings, your table might be larger (literally and figuratively!) or you might feel like going that extra mile decorating for the upcoming holiday. We’ve put together three Thanksgiving table settings, with unique twists, to meet all your needs.

Cocktail Hour

What we love about it:

  • Using a blanket as a tablecloth! It adds a warm texture and can lend more colour than any tablecloth you own!

  • Elegance in simplicity. We used an oversized ceramic vase with beautiful branches, blended with a glass pumpkin and a couple real ones!

Bonus: use apple chips as an alternative or in addition to crackers for extra fall vibes (recipe here)

Formal Dining

A classic table setting outfitted with fine china, crystal glasses, and candlelight with a harvest twist. Perfect for a dinner party or impressing the in-laws!

What we love about it:

  • Blending old and new. Formal dining is the time to pull out all the inherited crystal and silverware from grandma! Mix these with the new, in our case white ceramic pumpkins and square vases, to create a contemporary yet classic look.

  • Accented Achromatic Design. We kept our table setting neutral, using creams and beige linens. Adding a pop of colour, using the “pink” pumpkins and hydrangeas from the garden brighten the table and contribute to the harvest theme.
